Deep Water Dock — Fort Lauderdale, FL Real Estate

Fort Lauderdale, FL real estate with a deep-water dock — active waterfront listings whose listing states deep-water dockage or access, the starting point for larger drafts and no-fixed-bridge ocean runs.

Fort Lauderdale is the center of the South Florida yachting world — more than 165 miles of navigable canals, a downtown that has filled with new towers, and beach neighborhoods that still feel residential.

Ocean access is not one thing here. Homes east of the Intracoastal on Las Olas Isles, Seven Isles, Idlewyld and Harbor Beach reach Port Everglades with no fixed bridges, which is what a 70-foot-plus yacht requires. West of the Intracoastal and along the New River you trade bridge clearance for lot size and value, and the difference between the two can be several million dollars on otherwise similar houses.

"Deep water" is the phrase sellers use when a dock can take a real draft — but it is a claim, not a measurement. This page keeps only active Fort Lauderdale listings that state deep-water dockage or deep-water access and name a dock, slip or lift. The strongest of these sit in Harbor Beach, Las Olas Isles, Seven Isles, Idlewyld and along the Intracoastal, where there are no fixed bridges on the run to Port Everglades.

Before you rely on the words, verify the numbers: the depth at low tide at the dock and along the whole route, usable dock length after side setbacks, canal width for turning, and bridge clearance for your air draft. The Dock & Draft Match tool on this site checks each home against your boat's length, draft and air draft — every estimate is preliminary until verified at the dock.
